Mother base will play an important part in the player's progression during Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain as it provides not only a haven, training ground to the soldiers you fulton during your missions and storage for fultoned equipment but also provides support as well as R&D toward weapons. The video demonstrates a full functioning mother base that the player can create and completely visit. From the exteriors where Diamond Dog soldiers are trained to the interior of Huey's lab, exploring mother base will be limitless.

Mother base is completely customizable to the player's preference; changing the color scheme and emblems around your base are just two of the limitless possibilities that the player can customize. The customization of security counter parts, such as adding cameras and laser traps to security rotations in certain areas to ensure maximum safety of mother base. Taking such security steps is imperative when the player enters their mother base onto a game mode titles "Forward Operating Base" (FOB) which is the online aspect where other players online are allowed to infiltrate other players' mother bases ultimately to steal supplies and weapon ordanances.

Players can opt out of the FOB game mode but would still need to upgrade motherbase to house fultoned soldiers, supplies and to unlock new gadgets or weapons. Allowing from R&D can unlock a mobile device named D-Walker that is equipped with lethal weaponry and armor when missions get fiery. It does not stop there, the support department back at mother base can also be used to supply ammo during a mission, vehicles on the go and even support artillery if the threat is escalated high enough for the player. Options are limitless and Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will be a promising game for the long time and newcoming fans of the series.
