After 26 seasons with the iconic animated series The Simpsons, long time voice actor to the series Harry Shearer is saying farewell to the series. His iconic presence lives long in the series voicing some of Springfield's fan favorites and most memorable characters. Harry Shearer had taken the role of the evil Mr. Burns but also Ned Flanders, Principal Skinner, the Rev. Lovejoy and Kent Brockman. Although he was offered a guaranteed $14 million for two years of work, since The Simpsons will be continuing on to it's 27th and 28th seasons, the voice actor declined the offer according to someone with direct knowledge of the matter.

With many attempts to keep the legendary voice actor, even James L. Brooks, one of The Simpsons original producers spoke publicly on Twitter for Shearer to keep on track with the show. The voice actor states that his decision centered around his ability to continue doing outside work. "In last four years, I've created and starred in a UK TV series and starred on London stage. Not stopping," he said in a message to CNNMoney. Al Jean, showrunner, stated that Shearer was "offered the same deal as the rest of the cast, but turned it down." Jean added that they do not plan on killing off the characters that were portrayed by Shearer but rather cast them with some of the most talented voice over actors in the industry. It will be really hard to say farewell to the iconic voice actor, but we wish him well in his future endeavors. "Thanks, Simpsons fans, for your support." tweeted Shearer
