Mortal Kombat X - Review

Finish him! Indeed.

Mortal Kombat X delivers the most fluid, smooth, and enjoyable MK yet. And yes of course there is plenty of blood and savagery to go along with it.

The story mode is quite engaging; continuing on the story from its predecessor MK9, you’re able to see time pass by as the original cast grows older, marries, and have children. Which leaves it open for the newcomers of the game to carry on the franchise wherever it may lead. The story mode is immensely short, I played it through in under 3 ½ hours; but then again, this is a fighting game, and story modes usually don’t matter as much.

The multiplayer is exquisite. Having the ability to choose a faction as the start up of the game is amazing. For every win, faction kill, brutality, and fatality that is executed online, goes towards a finite amount in which whichever faction gains the most kills, wins the week. Rewards in faction include koins and upgrades toward your player card.

There are several other modes to engage in kombat in such as Living Towers, Traditional Towers, The Krypt, Training and yes, Fatality Practice. Living Towers include daily missions, weekly towers, and a premium towers. Traditional Towers have the original modes all in one place such as Klassic, Test Your Luck, and Test Your Might.

For a game that is solely based on fighting, there is plenty to do. Graphics are impeccable. Seeing the blood, sweat, and internal organs is such a crisp and vivid way is nothing short of pure awesomeness for fans of MK. Fatalities are stomach-twisting, face-cringing, gasping, and jaw-droppingly awesome. You’re able to see define muscle and smooth nervous systems in a horrifically beautiful way. Mortal Kombat delivers is true way of inflicting pain on others, people play these games to see how crude and disgusting fatalities are. Trust me, this game has all of that.
